I suppose that I'm plaigiarising Mr P Colman here, but I really liked his idea of appreciating a piece of art each day. I read a good article yesterday on Cezanne's Lac d'Annecy. About how he was mentally traumatised (wouldn't touch people including his wife and child etc.) and used painting as an outlet for his torment. It made me reappraise this picture entirely. So my pledge no. 10 is to look at a piece of art every day (be it one I've seen before or not) and question it. And not let it wash over me.
As for the rest...
...got 7 of us out running on Wednesday. That's a new record.
Planning to buy flowers for the window boxes tomorrow. Will post pictures for proof.
Haven't given out any more certificates, so thought I'd do this one for Leeroy at his request:
Don't understand it in any way, but hope it makes him feel better.
Haven't mended my sunglasses and still running late. Every day.
As for eating other people's food, it's a tricky one. I've taken to wandering round the Spitalfields Farmers' Market and hoovering a number of sampling tasters from the cheese, bread and chocolate brownie counters. Does that count? Confused.
All in all, i'm going to give myself a:

Is that Simon S looked crazed as he runs?

Hi Faris, you well?
Will you be joining us?
Pledging to digitize the universe (or something).

Indeed it is. Simon was our running leader and chief photographer. He has the longest legs so was able to stride ahead whilst taking shots behind him. You can join if you fancy - Wednesdays at 1pm.

Look at TomLR's list for the reasoning behind the certificate. He's got a timeframe to use now.

Got you. I don't just give out certificates to anyone. Pressure's on Tom. You've got 3 1/2 months to sort it.

This Cezanne picture was so utterly gorgeous when I saw it I actually wanted to jump in. If you get the chance, go see it in person (if you didn't already). Courtauld Institute, Somerset House.

Will definitely go and have a look - there's a Cezanne exhibition this Oct at The National.
What I found interesting about this painting was the violent way in which he's depicted nature. When I read about his miserable childhood and complete social ineptitude and isolation towards the end of his life, it all sort of clicked into place. I got a lot more out of viewing it.

Very much looking forward to seeing more of his work in the flesh.

God I think I've been getting him aaall wrong. Didn't get the violence at all...have a feeling I'll have to stop dreaming about jumping in if I read your link. Nice shout on the National...Maybe we could have a Letsseewhathappens Big Day Out.
