Haven't really been fishing as I claimed below, but have been in Belgium on secret Yakult business. I can't give too much away but I think it's okay to say that our future business preparedness will involve being able to fence and carve ice sculptures.
On a personal level I established the following over the weekend.
1. Belgium is nicer than you think (unless you think it's about as nice as Oxfordshire).
2. I was stupid in the extreme to disregard predictive text, I genuingly believe it will make my life about 1.75% better.
3. I was equally stupid to claim not to like Snickers chocolate bars (having never tried one until today) - they are a triumph of snack combination - who would have thought that nuts and chocolate would go so well together?
4. The Eurostar buffet carriage is rubbish on too many levels to discuss here.
5. Apparently I look enough like a football hooligan to be taken aside at passport control and questioned in some detail about my intentions on mainland Europe, and have my integrity questioned (it would appear that "...I'm bonding in Belgium" is not a believable answer.)
Everything else is too raw to talk about at this stage.

Hi Paul,
When I was over in Brussels working with IKEA I was staying in an area which looked like a French crime movie (Marseilles?), which I liked although I was prob lucky not to get mugged/wake up in a porn movie/lose a kidney. Still Oxfordshire also has its no-go estates (I may admittedly be basing that view of Oxon on episodes of Frost!)
Since you are in exile I thought you might check t'blog more often than email. I've lost track of when we might be meeting to tape a podcast (sorry) - lots of time next week if you are free.
