It was Interesting 2007 yesterday. Loads of people are writing about it, so I won't bother with a big description or anything - not really my style.
I only have one brilliantly stupid thing to say, and that is that I found it interesting. Sure some was too long, some too short, some too random, and some not random enough. But it was all interesting, really interesting. I now have head full of stuff, of things, of conversations, of words, of pictures, of sounds, and of tastes, and of ideas. And if I'm not wrong, that was the point. So thanks to Russell for making it happen, and to Arthur for being up for a play fight when everyone else was talking about grown-up stuff.
One of the strange things about the day for me was how nervous I got when friends of mine were about to speak.
I knew Beeker would be good, but still couldn't help but get a little nervous just before she went on. Of course she was great, talking about The Muppets and some Dutch bloke.

I also got a little tense before Sophie Dollar went on. During the break, before she was on, we grabbed a coffee together, and I was able to get a little slice of the trepidation she was feeling. Which of course was misplaced - she did a brilliant job - explaining why Cezanne thought fruit such 'fine fellows'.
Well done ladies (and everyone else), and thanks again Russell and Arthur.
Ps. I can't find a picture of Tom, but he was magic too - 100% nuts - but bloody magic.

What a great day - especially great to see all those bloggers who you never get to see or meet in the flesh too. And you were only play fighting to avoid having to clear up, Colman.

Was great to see you on Saturday, Paul. I think I'll always have a soft spot for you & for Life in the Middle because you were my first 'crossover' experience between blogging and real-life. And you showed me Bloglines - I now cannot imagine how I ever survived without it! So many clicks...

Norwegian, not Dutch, by the way.(Not Tom. I think he's English. Or half French, or something.)

was great to catch up with you there, paul (and in prepatory drinks, too)! - although somewhere in the mix, i forgot about goodbyes.
nice work on the distract-arthur-while-we-all-clean-up job too.. would have been awful to have a child vs chair accident after such a great day.

I'm all English. I just share a house with some more or less French people. I can't keep them out - they get everywhere. Wish they were better at cooking 'though.

Lauren, lovely to see you.
Beeker, are you sure he wasn't Dutch?
Tom, don't leave garlic out - they love it.
Emily, lunch soon?

I didn't know who the Dutch bloke was either.
Posted by: Ben | 06/19/2007 at 02:45 PM
honestly.

Who won the fight? That Arthur chapped looked pretty tidy to me.

I'll take your word for it Beeker.
John, I let him win - he's a kid. In a real fight I'd win easily - he's only seven, and I'm quite hard.

I bet you say that to all the boys!

No smut please John, thank you.

It's fine Diana - I think we needed the intrusion.
Was very nice to meet you too at the conference. I hope you enjoyed your trip to the UK.
