Finski's come your way, change in a shop, out of a cash machine (though not so much anymore), in that 'cash in hand' plastering job you took on for the friend of friend's sister's mate Joe. They come, and they go. They do their job, no fuss, merely the promise of value.
But then one will come your way and make you stop, and think. Look at the note above. I pulled it out of my wallet this morning as I prepared to go to the shop (for a paper and some milk). As I removed it from my wallet I notice that in large blue capital letters it has the name 'KATE WALTON' written on it. I looked at it, and wondered. Who is this Kate Walton? And why did someone write her name so clearly on a five pound note? The way it's written suggests whoever wrote it felt it was important. I'm was left wondering why.
Maybe it's code. A secret code, words that unlock something very secret and very private. Maybe someone was on their way to an interview, so nervous they couldn't remember who they were meeting, and decided they needed to remember for sure. But then why write it on a fiver? Maybe it's a note to me - someone placed it in wallet. Trying to tell me that the name Kate Walton is one I need to remember. Or maybe someone used to go to school with someone called Kate Walton, who was the exact spit of Queen Elizabeth II, and they just fancied letting the world know.
Either way I'm going to be spending the Walton fiver soon - needs must and all that, but do let me know if she comes your way.

Kate is a Chelsea College of Art hotty :) Nice catch.

Kate Walton works in a bar.
The other night she had a moment with a customer. It started with a potentially flamable misunderstanding. One that turned into a flirtation, through a series of smiles and jokes. Nothing out of the ordinary for Kate, this sort of experience comes with the job.
Half on purpose, Kate let slip her name in the course of the banter. He noted it down on the back of the note she gave him in change. In mock-seriousness, he claimed his intention to report her lack of bartending competance.
As he took his drinks back to his friends, he thought 'I'll Facebook her tomorrow, if I remember'.
(I'm a romantic, this is what I chose to believe)

if kate reads this blog, then her currency circulation experiment has almost worked. but if not, i'm sorry to say that you've just interrupted it and need to send that fiver back into the flow, for the good of the species.

She's the new up and coming pop star. It's the latest thing with the kids these days in terms of getting discovered. Forget myspace, writing on money is the way to go.
Too bad our cash is plastic. Just wash it and it comes off!

Both lauren & laura's explanations are disapointingly more probable.

Could she be "Johnboy's" sister ?
This could be a new advertising approach to a re-make or re-issue of the TV series.

I met a girl today called Kate. Could be just a coincidence though.

This is great, imagine the stories you could create with just this as a clue. It could be a murder mystery or some form of thriller. How intriguing! some detective work Miss Marple style.
Although, musn't get obsessed :)
