Thanks to everyone who has entered the APSotW. I think there are about 17 entries, so it'll take me a week or so to work through them and to write the feedback, consult the gods, and declare a winner.
This clip, my favourite, is from a film of the R.E.M Green Tour, in 1989. When I was growing up we used to watch the film every time a few of us all stayed over at one of the other's houses. We'd turn the lights off. Put the sound up loud. And talk long into the morning. Watch the sunrise. And then maybe do it all again. They were great days - full of laughs, silliness, possibility, growth, and friendship.
It's odd - that happened, a long time ago, but I rarely think about it now. I'm too busy worrying about whether the bills are paid, the plastic is recycled, and if my ipod is charged. Yet I listen to this clip and it all comes flooding back.
So, I'm going to be turning down the lights, turning up the sound, and letting R.E.M take me back, if only for a bit (the plastic recycling can wait).
