For various logistical reasons, that I can't go into, we had a future planning day with one of clients in a small hotel in the Shires. It was like going back in time. Which was ironic given the subject matter of the day
Professional as ever, we managed to keep the past out of the future, yesterday; so to speak.

My sister and her family very kindly bought me a puzzle for my birthday, which was 2 months ago (but who's counting). It's a Jackson Pollock one.
At the moment I'm using it to elevate my computer, so it's a more ergonomic height.
One day I'll put it together, but for now it's hello Jackson, goodbye back pain.
(And yes, that is an A3 pad underneath the puzzle, just in case I want to draw up a scamp or something.)
Honestly, I'm never that bothered when people have babies. I mean I am happy for them. Pleased for the new life in theirs, but I always respond in a very factual way, you know, say the things I feel like I have to say.
But I can say with hand on heart that I felt the world had become better when I read the following text yesterday:
"Baby Thomas William Hughes was born at 5:14 this evening, weighing 6lb 11oz. He's quite a guy. Mum, baby, and me all doing well"
My best friend's son was born yesterday. And I feel great about that, really great.
Congratulations to the world, Thomas is here, and he's "quite a guy".
I was cycling along Chelsea embankment this morning, early, when I was signaled by traffic policeman to pull over. They were asking all cyclists and all lorry drivers.
Once stopped a nice policeman informed me that there are now a lot of cycling accidents in London caused by lorry drivers. And also lots caused by cyclists not thinking about how they position themselves around lorry's, especially when the lorry's are turning.
They then gave me a leaflet explaining more, from both sides of the story.
I've read it and now I'm going to be more careful around lorry's. I hope they've read it too.
Sometimes it feels good to pay taxes, and have someone thinking about what might kill me, and then producing a little leaflet to try and lower the chances of that happening.
Good work the police.
You know it's winter when my lips fall apart and I have to get some Vaseline. That was the only size they had in the shop I went into, otherwise I would have bought something a little more measured.
A little tip for you, it's not that easy to eat Rice Krispies with Vaseline on your lips, and Innocent down your jumper, take it from one who knows.
I hate washing. So many steps and things to remember. Lots of things to buy, and lots of choices of which versions of things to buy. And then when you've got all that stuff, you have to decide what setting to put the machine on. None of them make any sense to me. So I always go for the 'fast colour wash', and hope for the best. I mean I want it done fast, and my clothes are coloured. It seems to do the job.
It doesn't end there either. Once things are clean they still need to be dried. I thought that was what the washing line was for, but I forgot about the rain.
Back to square one.
Maybe washing machines should come with a weather forecast built in.

The always really rather good Scamp has been helping with a campaign to promote atheism, and getting bloggers to suggest ideas. I haven't suggested any ideas. But I'd like to support the campaign. So I've written this post.

As part of the pitch I'm working on at the moment I had to present to Dan Wieden (along with some other people), last night. It was on a video conference, so he looked like a tv presenter.
He didn't clap but I sense he was tempted.
It's been a while, but it's good to be back on the Yakult.
It's going to be a weekend of pitch working, so I'll need all the help I can get.
