Time for a Tankard update.
Big news! (Well, news.) She has slowly been making her way East, something she'd always dreamed of. She started by visiting Sophie in the W+K Shanghai office.
At first the office seemed pleased by the Tankard's arrival in their land, and showed it some famous Chinese hospitality.
But before long their enthusiasm seemed to turn to confusion.
And later disdain.
But Sophie put these harsh judgments aside and took the Tankard for lunch, and showed her the city.
Finally the Tankard was embraced by the office, with the famous 'sorry, have I got something on my head' pose.
And then it was time to say goodbye. Sophie seemed to pack her carefully, and I think, from the picture, I can detect a tear in Sophie's eye and maybe a little sadness in her heart as she sent the Tankard on her way.
With that she was off to Lauren in Oz.
Lauren did a sterling job, you can read all about their adventures here.
The question that now presents itself is: where next?
Any offers?
Team Quest.

Now that's a good idea!
I think the plan at the moment is: Lauren will send it to Age, who I think is Thailand, and then he'll send it to Faris in New York. Then maybe Faris could pass it over to you and The Law.
These are exciting times.

Everything seems OK today - no major upsets and all appears calm and satisfactory.
I hope this is not a bad sign.
It COULD mean that all the hellish shits are about the hit the breaking loose fan.

Jesus, Tom!
Where have you been?

as it turns out, Age is in Melbourne. But maybe he's passing through Thailand on the way to NYC. Now that i know that she's heading off soon, i'll take her out on the town again for a leaving do. expect more pics.

Thanks, Lauren.
So Age can take it NY, and Faris can send to Portland.
Be careful with her.

I'll have the tankard. I bet she'd go well with some liver.

What the hell are you talking about, Tom?
Posted by: Paul H. Colman | 07/20/2009 at 05:32 PM
If she makes it to Portland and can make the quick jaunt up to Vancouver I can show her around. Tick another country off the Tankard's list. Might show her around Seattle too. (Is a Tankard a she?)

Excellent, excellent - we've got a plan.
She can, and she is, Brett.

Would the tankard like to make a stop in St. Louis while it's in the states?
Posted by: Maria | 07/20/2009 at 07:51 PM
Sure it would.
So, we going like this: Lauren-Age-Faris-Michael (and The Law)-Brett-Maria.
Bon Voyage.

Has the tankard been to slough? Or Glasgow?
Posted by: fatcraig | 07/21/2009 at 01:37 PM
Will it be safe there, Craig?

hey all...
Yes i am in Melbourne! Which makes for an easy transfer from Lauren. I'm leaving on the 28th of August and have a stop over in LA (only an hour or so) but it does mean the Tankard gets to chalk up a visit in Lalaland off a technicality. Then off to NYC and Faris and beyond.
I am honored to be a part of this, genuinely.
Question: can we drink from the Tankard? As an Aussie, i'm just putting it out there...
Posted by: Age | 07/22/2009 at 03:54 AM
Age,
Sorry, I don't know why I thought you were in Thailand.
While it's great to have you onboard, please don't ever joke about drinking from her. She hates it (and she's all leaky).

Loud and clear, sir.
There will be no liquid near the Tankard.

A few days away from the internet and I miss all of this. I feel a bit weepy - it's so good to see the tankard on the move again. What a joy, what a jug.

Age, I believe in you. I want you to know that.
Dan, she's as much yours as she is mine, so welcome back my friend.
